Programme overview
The Diploma in Management is designed to take you, an experienced professional working in a public, private or voluntary sector organisation, to the next level of your career.
You will establish measurable progress in communication, teamwork, influencing and self-efficacy, while advancing your leadership capabilities, strategic thinking, planning and organisational skills.
Through this one-year, part-time, blended programme, you will gain a formal, internationally recognised management qualification.
You will learn to apply a range of skills and techniques to manage yourself, your career and your team more effectively and gain a unique perspective on your own personal and professional development that is relatable, practical and implementable. You will develop an understanding and appreciation of core management principles and explore the impact of the economic environment on your organisation. You will also develop interpersonal confidence, communication skills and practical organisational techniques in a range of settings, and recognise, accept, and learn to control stress to better manage your work/life balance.

On successful completion, you can progress to the BA (Hons) in Management Practice (NFQ Level 8) in one year. This clear progression route is a major benefit, making the KBS Diploma in Management a very

The Programme will commence at the end of August 2026.
The Lectures for the Programme will be delivered online two evenings per week (6.30 pm to 9 pm), except for two compulsory days which you must attend on Saturday, 5th September 2026 & Saturday, 23rd January 2027 from 09h00 to 17h00at the University of Limerick. The Programme will run from Semester 1: September to December 2026 & Semester 2: January to May 2027.
Learning Approach
The Diploma in Management programme is delivered via Live interactive, online, skills-focused sessions which are supported with Brightspace, a virtual learning environment, in addition to self-directed and applied learning. The programme is book-ended with two compulsory on-campus Saturday workshops. These on-campus days allow participants to meet the programme team, fellow professionals, apply your knowledge, facilitate discussion and collaboration, and debate content covered during online sessions.
While based on academic theories, concepts and techniques, the programme also focuses on individual personal development and the practical application and transfer of learning within the workplace. Continuous assessment is a core feature of the programme. You will embark on a unique journey of learning and personal development, supported by the expertise and industry experience
of your lecturers and inspired by the diverse backgrounds and career experiences of your programme colleagues.
Who is the course for?
This programme is for professionals seeking to advance their careers and reinforce experiential learning with an academic qualification in management, or graduates of other disciplines with three or more years of organisational experience seeking to explore the management process and develop the relevant skills for their first managerial role.
Minimum entry requirement for this programme is a Certificate in Management (NFQ Level 6, 60 ECTS Credits) or an equivalent qualification.
